BSFS first annual open house
by Mike Dickerson

Last Saturday’s Open House at the Missouri State Bull Shoals Field Station was a big success. We were blessed with nice weather and had 40 guests attend. Guests included Missouri State Representative Estel Robirds; collaborators from the Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Conservation, and City Utilities; members of the James River Basin Partnership; Missouri State administrators; Emeritus faculty; and neighbors.

Besides touring the facility, each guest had the opportunity to visit with faculty and graduate students and tour several interesting local habitats and ongoing studies. These tours included savannah and glade restoration areas, pond life, and Bull Shoals water quality.

We are grateful for all the help provided by Missouri State faculty, staff, and students. Campus photographer Kevin White attended and took numerous photographs. We are also grateful to the fisherman who retrieved our wandering boat.
