Upcoming Events
We're having a Water Festival and Open
House!
Join us on May 24th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for
our nearly-annual Open House. This year's event is a theme oriented Water
Festival that promises lots of wholesome family fun while learning about our
Ozark water resources. Some of the features of the day include: The
"Fantastic Fun - River Run" interactive room-sized board game set up in our
classroom; a walking fish key; face painting of fish on kids; music about water
and the environment, displays from local water quality organizations, and lots
more. The highlight of the day is an ART SALE of original work by Missouri
State CNAS members and framed prints of exceptional quality.
We'll post a schedule of the events that will make for this fun day
at the Bull Shoals Field Station - stay tuned!

News of Note
Update on Facilities
We are ready for your group to reserve the field station!
The house has a stable electricity supply as long as the sun
shines on our new solar panels and the batteries stay conditioned or the system
will kick over to the new propane powered generator. Nathan Jones,
of Power Source Solar, Inc., has done a great job at
getting everything to work properly and is great at putting up with all
our questions. There are
two bathrooms: the lower one is accessible by all and the
second floor bathroom has a shower. The new windows keep the
historical look of the house and
are working well with the new insulation to help conserve heat. The
walls are now a pale yellow which really brightens up
the rooms. The floors are finished and we installed very nice wood framed bunks, so
groups can reserve the house with up to 10 people in bunks and use our cots for
overflow.
Construction on the 800 sq. ft. classroom building
is now finished. It is a wonderful addition to our facilities and
provides a bright comfortable space in which to conduct indoor activities.
Many compliments have been received by the groups using our newest building.
There is always more
work to be done. If you ever
have a day when you would like
to give us a hand with these repairs, let us know.
We’ll put you to work.
